CONFERENCE THEME

The ESCAN Conference is the biennial meeting of the European Society for Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience. Its goal is to facilitate the collaboration and exchange of information between researchers across Europe, to ultimately promote and advance the neuroscientific investigation of human cognition, affect and social interaction.

The 8th ESCAN Conference is committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, ethnicity, race, national origin, age, or religion. Dedicated initiatives will be introduced to promote diversity and inclusivity in science and among attendees.

In line with these values, ESCAN 2026 is organised in collaboration with Symposia, a partner that has long adopted best operational practices to ensure accessibility and environmental sustainability. These include the careful selection of materials based on eco-sustainability criteria, the energy efficiency of equipment, and well-structured procedures to manage workload peaks and ensure continuity of service.

Through these combined efforts, ESCAN 2026 aims to create a conference that is inclusive, accessible, and sustainable in every aspect.
